Call Display (incoming calls)
In order to have Call Display, you need a Call Display capable phone. After the first ring, the name and telephone number of the caller should appear on your display screen.
Long distance calls may sometimes be displayed as “Long Distance”. Calls from locations or providers that do not supply call display info will appear as “Unknown”.
Troubleshooting
If you're not receiving Call Display info, this may due to lost or corrupted data when transmitting to your Fongo Adapter. A simple fix for this is reboot your Fongo Adapter by unplugging the power for 30 seconds.
Caller ID (outgoing calls)
Fongo Home phone sends both your phone number and name to the recipient. The name sent by default is the name on your account (input during sign up).
*Not all providers support name display, even if they advertise caller ID/call display.
Hide Your Outgoing Caller ID
Simply dialing the prefix *67 before your recipient's phone number when placing a call will make your call show up as "unknown" or "private" on your recipient's device.
Example:
If you're calling 519-336-1437, you should dial *67-519-336-1437
Change Your Outgoing Caller ID Name
By default, the outgoing Caller ID name is set to the first and last name that is on your account from your initial signed up.
This may be changed for the below reasons:
- Spelling mistake
- Incorrect name
- Change to a spouse's name
- Change ownership of service
Please note that there is a 15-character limit on the Caller ID (cutting off anything more than that), and only supports letters, numbers, and spaces.
Submit a request to our support team to have your outgoing Caller ID name changed.
*Fongo reserves the rights to refuse Caller ID Display Name change
