Call Display and Caller ID

Call Display (incoming calls)

Call Display is included for free with Fongo Mobile. The name and phone number of the person calling you will appear on your smartphone when there is an incoming call (if their plan/provider includes it).

Caller ID (outgoing calls)

By default, Fongo Mobile sends your name and phone number to the person you're calling.

Changing / Hiding Your Caller ID

You must have an active Fongo Plus or Fongo Ultimate subscription.

  1. Within the app, navigate to the main menu
  2. Select Settings
  3. Under the Phone Service section, you will see two settings related to caller ID
    1. "Show My Caller ID" - Toggle this off to show "Anonymous" when you call people
    2. "Caller ID" - Tap this and type the name that you want displayed when you call people
      • Your outgoing caller ID will show the name you input, along with your Fongo phone number
      • Restrictions:
        • A 15-character limit applies, cutting off anything more than that.
        • Only supports letters and spaces.
        • Must be a valid human name, not a company name (this caller ID is sent to authorities in the event of a 911 call)

Notes:

  • Not all providers support name display, even if they advertise Caller ID/Call Display.
