This feature allows you to direct your callers to a pre-recorded message which provides information about your business such as hours of operation, location, etc.
Steps:
- Create a new extension for this recording

- Set this extension's call handling to "Go to voicemail"

- Don't sign into the mobile app for this extension, you want the call to go to voicemail immediately

- Set this extension to whichever caller option you want
- Create an mp3 audio file of your desired recording
- Since this is a voicemail greeting, you don't want the caller to reach the voicemail box and leave a message, so we recommend the below methods to eliminate that from happening
- Use audio editing software to loop your recording 2 or 3 times in the same audio file
- Instead of this, you could just leave 30 seconds - 1 minute of silence at the end of your audio file
- Since this is a voicemail greeting, you don't want the caller to reach the voicemail box and leave a message, so we recommend the below methods to eliminate that from happening
- Send the Fongo support team your audio file using this link https://support.fongo.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and ask them to upload the file as the voicemail greeting for the extension you created
With this setup, the caller will choose the caller option you set and immediately hear your recording play They will likely hang up if your recording begins to repeat or if the recording turns to silence after playing.
