SMS messaging with Fongo Works is limited.
Texting Capability of FW Pro:
If your system is upgraded to Pro and a customer sends an SMS message to any of your Fongo Works business phone numbers (excluding toll free numbers), the message will be forwarded to the cell phone number that the account was signed up with. You will not be able to reply to the message using Fongo Works.
You can contact our support team to change the "owner's cell phone number" on your account, which is where the text messages will be routed.
Recommendation for 2-way SMS:
Use Fongo Mobile in combination with Fongo Works Pro if you are looking to have 2-way SMS conversations with customers
- Upgrade your Fongo Works account to Pro
- Create a Fongo Mobile account in the Fongo Mobile app
- You will be given a free Canadian phone number
- Purchase a texting package in the app ($1.99/month)
- This gives you the ability to send/receive SMS messages using Fongo Mobile
- Contact our support team so they replace the "owner's cell phone number" on your Fongo Works account with your new Fongo Mobile number
Now when customers send texts to any of your Fongo Works phone numbers, the texts will be forwarded to your Fongo Mobile app, where you can reply to the sender and have 2-way conversations.
