Quick Start Guide for iOS

Dock Fongo for quick and easy access

1. Touch and hold Fongo icon until it starts jiggling. An ‘X’ will appear on the icon.


2. Drag the Fongo icon into the Dock at the bottom of your Home screen. (If you have 4 icons already there – drag one out of the Dock before moving Fongo in.)


3. Press the Home button to save the arrangements.




Send your Fongo contact card

1. From the Menu on the left tap Account.


2. In the top left corner tap Edit, then from popup options choose either Create New Contact or Add to Contact to add your contact details. Tap Done when you finish.


3. Tap again your contact info and from popup menu choose Email.


4. Send your contact card as an email attachment.















Favourite your contacts for one-tap text and talk.

Way 1.

1. From the menu on the left tap Contacts. 


2. In the top section of your contact list, called FAVS – tap either Choose FAVS or [ + ]. Put check marks beside contacts that you want to see in FAVS and then tap Done.



Way 2.

1. From the menu on the left tap Contacts.


2. Select and tap a contact that you want to add to FAVS. Under the contact profile tap 8.PNG


Note. To remove a contact from FAVS list – under the contact profile tap 9.PNG

Identify contacts.

Beside each contact from your list you can see 3 types of icons: 

IMG_4209_-_Copy.PNG  - This your Fongo friend. You have unlimited texting, sending pictures, and calling for free with this contact.


IMG_4209_-_Copy__2_.PNG - This contact does not use Fongo. However, you can call this number at any time for free. To check all free calling cities click here

Add new contacts.

1. From the menu on the left tap Contacts. 


2. At the top right corner in your contact list tap [ + ], add contact details, then tap Done. 




Accessing your Voice Mail. 

Way 1.

1. Tap Voicemail from the menu on the left.


2. At the top right corner of your visual voicemail interface tap call.png



Way 2.

From the dialpad call *98



Way 3.

From the dialpad press and hold ‘1’ button for 3 seconds.

Setting up your Voicemail.

See above how to access your voicemail. 

When prompted, select Personal Options then Greetings to record. 

Select Personal Options when prompted, then Administrative Options, then Password to set your password.

Set rings before Voicemail.

1. From the Menu on the left tap Account


2. Tap Settings



3. Tap Rings Before Voicemail and choose from the list.  




Creating messages.

From the Contacts tile.

Select a contact. Tap on the messaging bubble under the contact profile.



From the Message tile.

1. Tap Messages from the menu on the left. 


2. Tap IMG_4224.PNG in the top right corner to start a conversation.  Choose recipients from your contact list tapping [ + ] or simply type in a number. 


From the History tile. 

1. Select a contact or a number you want to message and swipe to reveal the Message bubble.



Remove conversation/message history.

From your Messages tile – swipe the conversation you wish to remove and tap 2_-_Copy.png



Call History

3 types of calls.

There are 3 types of calls, beside each number/contact in your Call History list.

missed.pngMissed Call

Tap on any contact/number from History tile if you wish to see call logs.



Tap on any call log to make a call.



Swipe any contact/number from your History tile to add to contact list, send a message, remove from the History list, add to FAVS, or to look at contact profile.



Features and Add-ons

 Call Forwarding.

To enable call forwarding: from the menu on the left tap Account, then tap Settings.



Tap Call Forwarding and choose Forwarding Mode.

Double Tap Call button.

 Redial the last number that you dialed by double tapping on the Call button in the dialpad screen.



Show Caller ID / Block Anonymous Calls.

From the Menu on the left tap Account and then tap Settings.




Enable Show Caller ID function if you wish to show your number. Disable it to call as Anonymous.

Enable Block Anonymous Calls function, so all anonymous/unknown numbers' calls will go straight to your voicemail.



Check calling rates before you make a call.

In the Dialpad put a number you wish to call and the call cost will appear under the number.

From the menu on the left tap Add-ons.


World Credits allow you to make international calls and outside of the free calling cities calls. World Credits do not expire. Use them whenever you need them. 

Available: $5 Credit, $20 Credit, $50 Credit.

Unlimited Canada Texting allows you to send and receive unlimited number of SMS messages across Canada.

Available: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months.

Unlimited Canada + US Texting allows you to send and receive unlimited SMS messages to/from any Canadian and US mobile numbers.

Available: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months.

Remove Ads package allows you to set your caller ID name, removes Ads at the bottom of the app and nice shortcuts will appear instead.
